Commitment to Community

A native Staten Islander, Linda cares about the Real Estate Community and her neighbors. She demonstrates this by volunteering her time to the Real Estate industry and neighborhood communities.    In 2002 she volunteered her time to the Staten Island Board of Realtor. She resided on the professional standards committee for four years hearing ethic violation cases.  After that, she was nominated and elected to serve a two-year term as Director on the Staten Island Board of Realtors which held 2300 members at the time of her service in 2004-2006. In 2008 when the Real Estate and Banking industries collapsed, she was one of eight NYC realtors chosen to affiliate in a foreclosure prevention program with the Center for New York City Neighbors, a non-for-profit organization created by Mayor Bloomberg.   She volunteered her time in this program counseling, educating and speaking to homeowners on the process and the benefits of short sale rather than foreclosure. She helped many homeowners avoid deficiency judgments and bankruptcy through her expertise in short sales negotiations.   She is currently still a certified and preferred broker for the Center for New York City Neighbors in their foreclosure prevention program.

She also organized events for Staten Islanders affected by hurricane sandy. Storming Back, was the name of this group of local professionals and vendors offering free advice to owners of damaged homes. Linda's most recent commitment to giving back to the community; was with an event she organized to honor cancer survivors. She celebrated their life with a fundraiser, music and dance performances.  She organized this event with a fund-raiser, to provide money for education on preventing cancer in her community. She is a fifteen-year cancer survivor and is dedicated to bringing awareness to prevention.

Linda also authored a book “Survivor’s Instinct” a chronicle of her cancer journey and how she made decisions to foregoing traditional treatment. She wrote this book to help others affected by this disease. It was released the end of 2018.
